Is there any tool to flash this fw to psps? I have heard mathieulh talking about this firmware and its capabilities of its ipl are promising. I have dumped the update using psar dumper and got the ipl from ridge racer, but i havent got any tools to flash it. I am willing to risk one of my psps because its umd device is broken and i will return it to get one new anyways so i dont care if it bricks.
Older versions of File Manager have the ability to flash files directly in, however you would probably get a brick sometime during the transfer due to the files being in use. I know if you use the update you will automatically brick so that's not a good idea either...
I wish you luck though for whatever comes of it, I had fun messing around with it in MPHFL. It would be great to see an actual PSP using it as a firmware.
What about the 1.00 downdater?
Devhook it instead.
I guess either way would work, but doesn't the firmware actually need to be on the chip for the IPL to be installed correctly?
I tried to devhook it and no luck.... Now i run it on BFM and its very buggy. The 1.00 downdater cant be used because it performs a checksum on the ipl to see if it is the actual fw 1.00 ipl and wont downdate with the debug ipl. Since we downdated to 1.00 it wont be so hard to downdate to debug fw..
Do you know where I can learn more about this 1.00 debug firmware?
Go to psphacks.net download it,dump it with psardumper and emulate it with mphfl or bfm. Its a quite interesting fw and i found the way to remove the protection of it recognising as executable only the bogus update(it recognised everything else even updates as corrupted data).Zitat:

Wasn't the 1.00 Debug Firmware the one that had like a text editor and stuff? It was leaked or something, and people were advised not to use it.
There really was nothing new as far as 'features', but it did have some new icons and the menu sounds we're different/switched around. And besides not being able to launch most eboots it's pretty close to the real 1.00.Zitat:

I'm really interested in this too... I was told that there was some custom icons in this firmware build. I want to see if it is possible to flash the icon files and sound files to a 1.5 psp. Once we find out which file it is, then I want to find a way to rip that file apart and maybe try to make some custom xmb icons. Please keep this thread alive.
it works with mphfl ive ran it before, and from what ive read before it has no ipl in the update eboot, so this is the reason it cant be flashed/work with devhook.Zitat:

I don't think there is an IPL for 1.0. I think that's how Ookm flashed 1.0 to a 82 mobo. I'm just looking to emulate 1.0 debug, dump it, then mess around with the files in an emulated 1.50.
Of course it has an IPL. Without an IPL there is nothing to tell the PSP what to boot.
There is IPL in the update and its called kbooti.bin but its hard to extract it and i got it from the ridge racer umd instead. The problem is when u update the psp with this, the updater only writes the files to flash0 using SceIo and it doesnt use scenand to write the ipl so the psp bricks,because it has another ipl mixed with another fw files.
Oh, gotcha... So where to go from here... I'm trying to get it to run right now. :tup:

It's the ipl generated for the 1.5 to 1.0 downgrader. It came from a 1.0 dump...
Dump it with Psar dumper. The problem is, u have to make the directories urself. Create the directories looking at 1.00 retail dump to help u putting the files in the correct position,its about 10 min work.Zitat:

Thats the ipl data i got from the ridge racer umd http://rapidshare.de/files/29777160/C__kbooti.bin and im pretty sure it is the debug fw ipl(pls remove the C__ after dl it was my mistake while uploading its true name is kbooti.bin)
